Swedish Relaxation Massage
Escape the everyday stress with a soothing massage utilizing long fluid strokes to promote a deep state of relaxation. Pressure can vary from light to medium. This is a classic therapeutic way to relieve stress and increase circulation leaving you refreshed and energized.
The Stress Reliever
A soothing upper body massage tailored to concentrate on the head, neck and shoulders to relieve stress and tension. The targeted therapy helps to reduce sinus pressure and decrease tension related to headaches.
Trigger Point
For headaches, neck stiffness, carpal tunnel type symptoms, tennis elbow, bursitis, frozen shoulder, back pain, low back stiffness, sciatica, etc. A trigger point is an area of a muscle that may refer pain sensations to other parts of the body. Manual pressure is applied to these points and pressure is relieved.
Lymphatic Drainage
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD): MLD is a specific patter of very slow, light and rhythmic stretching of the skin in circular movements to stimulate the lymphatic vessels and nodes. The movement is a hands-on method of eliminating fluid retention, toxins and trapped proteins in our body tissues.
Lymphatic drainage can help to stimulate the reduction in the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibrmyalgia, deep relaxation to aid insomnia, stress, loss of vitality and loss of memory, anti-aging effects, and alleviation of cellulite tissue. This light, hands-on massage encourages the removal of toxins from the body to strengthen the immune system, reduce swelling and encourage general health.
Reflexology
The ancient treatment of hand and foot reflexology encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. This treatment enhances circulation to the corresponding organs allowing energy currents to flow helping achieve a sense of well being. As circulation is increased the body's internal harmony is restored as tension and stress melt away. This therapy is a good compliment to any massage, facial or body treatment service, or it can be performed on it's own.
Thai Massage
Also called Thai yoga massage; the therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches. The massage generally follows the Sen lines on the body — somewhat analogous to meridians or Channel (Chinese medicine) and Indian nadis. This massage is relaxing and energizing at the same time.
Shiatsu Shiatsu is a traditional form of Asian bodywork designed to enhance and restore health. Through the application of pressure and stretching techniques shiatsu relieves muscle tension, eases joint stiffness and realigns the structure of the body. Pressure along energy pathways of the body moves stagnant energy, clears energy blocks and brings the body into balance. Shiatsu works on a physical, emotional and spiritual plane. Treatment is deeply relaxing and has an overall calming effect, allowing the body the opportunity to heal itself. Regular Shiatsu sessions help to prevent the build up of stress in our daily lives.
Most people enjoy shiatsu massage as much as they enjoy deep tissue massage, but expect some differences. Shiatsu will involve deep breathing, rotating and stretching your joints, as well as manipulating pressure points. When these points are pressed, people describe the sensation as feeling tender, tickling, intense, or slightly uncomfortable, unlike anything else. After the massage, you may feel strange, but not sore as in a muscular tissue massage. Many believe Shiatsu is both preventative and healing, so getting it done on a regular basis, along with stretching, exercise, and a healthy diet, may improve your health.
Shiatsu technique refers to the use of fingers and palm of one's hand to apply pressure to particular sections on the surface of the body for the purpose of correcting the imbalances of the body, and for maintaining and promoting health. It is also a method contributing to the healing of specific illnesses."
Shiatsu involves applying pressure to special points or areas on the body in order to maintain physical and mental well being, treat disease, or alleviate discomfort. This therapy is considered holistic because it attempts to treat the whole person instead of a specific medical complaint. All types of acupressure generally focus on the same pressure points and so-called energy pathways, but may differ in terms of massage technique. Shiatsu, which can be translated as finger pressure, has been described as needle-free acupuncture.
Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue massage is helpful for tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Starting superficially and easing into the depth of the muscle slowly often allows more movement. This massage works by physically breaking down adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.
Acupressure
Acupressure uses the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life force to aid healing.
Sports Massage
A deep tissue massage combined with passive muscle stretching for total relaxation and increased flexibility. It aids in structural alignment resulting in improved body posture, re-energizes the body and reduces muscle soreness.
